Northern Red Oak is the most popular furniture wood in the world. It is also the “Standard” of the flooring industry. At Barrett Brothers Flooring, we use only the finest Northern Red Oak, the same oak that is sought after by the most discerning European furniture makers because of its slow growth, consistent color, and beautiful grain patterns. One simply cannot compare the quality of the oak used in our flooring with that of the competition.

Select Red Oak

Select Red Oak grade includes all of the developing clear wood, sapwood, no more than one worm hole per lineal foot, small mineral streaks, and sound knots up to ¼” in diameter.

Harvest Red Oak

Harvest Red Oak flooring is hand-picked from our Select stock to show the living beauty of the whole tree. Natural color variations, sound knots, unlimited character marks, and even an occasional open defect that may require filling before sanding are included in our Certified Harvest Red Oak.
